We had a thriving bespoke furniture business for many years with constant growth potential & exciting plans for 2020. Then the Covid-19 pandemic hit and as was the case with everyone in the world, we began to feel the effects of what this pandemic had in store for us. It definitely took its toll physically, emotionally & financially. Business slowed down and there was a lot of uncertainty as to what happens next.

By mid 2021, we made the decision to not sit around waiting but rather adopting a “finding a way to win” approach. We were inspired by an international company that makes amazing large cookies and this really piqued our interest. Once we did some market research, we realized that there was a gap in the South African market. 

 

So, with absolutely no baking experience between the two of us, we embarked on a journey to create our own unique style of cookies here in South Africa to bring a little joy and a whole lot of sweetness. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to use only the best quality ingredients to ensure the best end product that would make our clients come back for more. With endless nights of trial and error, constant research, and lots of taste testing, along with the support of our friends & family, we finally launched The Cookie Collab.
